Sateen as the first ever cool index sheet: Cool, Reimagined

How we made cool feel refined

The market has trained shoppers into a simple belief.

If you want cool sheets, you buy percale.
If you want warm sheets, you buy flannel.

The founder’s view is clear. That system forces trade-offs that do not need to exist.

Percale is often positioned as cool because it is considered more open and lighter in feel. Flannel is often positioned as warm because it is brushed. But brushed warmth frequently comes with compromises in durability, raw material quality, and long-term feel.

Sleep Scientist set out to break that.

The starting point was not temperature, it was quality

Before building comfort families, Sleep Scientist was clear about the baseline.

Best sheets must have:

  • very good hand feel

  • a rich, premium experience

  • durability

  • good drape

That was non negotiable.

Only after meeting those standards did we build sheets to address comfort needs.

The problem we solved

People like silky, soft, comfortable sheets.
So how do you make a sheet that is cool and still silky, still refined, still durable?

Most brands do not try. They simply offer percale as the “cool” option. Sleep Scientist engineered a high-end sateen that can sit in the Cool and Light comfort space without sacrificing the qualities people love.

What makes this different

The founder’s point is that globally, cool sheets are typically percale. Warm sheets are typically flannel. Sleep Scientist built something different.

A premium sateen that supports multiple comfort needs through construction choices:

  • cotton selection

  • yarn choices

  • construction choices

  • finishing choices

The idea was not to chase a label. The idea was to build a fabric identity.

Why “cool” should not mean crisp

Cool comfort can be airy and breathable without feeling sharp or stiff.
Luxury can be smooth and refined without being heavy.

That is the shift. Cool does not have to mean crisp. Luxury does not have to mean warm.

Where it fits in the system

Cool and Light is not a marketing finish. It is designed into the sheet. That is why it stays consistent through real nights and real washes.

If your body runs warm, you should not have to choose between comfort and refinement.

Sleep Scientist built Cool and Light to feel elevated, composed, and genuinely comfortable.
